Daniel Hess, President and founder of Southwick Insurance Agency is a lifelong resident of Southwick. Graduating from Southwick High school in 1977 and then obtaining a Bachelors degree in Teaching through Westfield State College. After graduating from Westfield State College, Dan taught at Southwick Powder Mill School for two years before switching career paths and taking a sales position with American Mutual Insurance Co. Dan was the top salesperson at the West Springfield office the next 3 years before deciding to take a risk and starting his own agency "Southwick Insurance Agency, Inc.". With little money and hard work, Dan and his brothers Gerry and Mike who would join the agency at later dates, grew the agency from a few to over 5000 clients in 2012. The agency motto has always been to shop for the best premium available for our clients and provide the best service possible. Dan has always been active in local youth organizations, sponsoring Rec Center, Park and Rec and School sporting teams. Besides sponsoring local youth sports, Dan has also volunteered to coach at the High School, Middle School, and local travel teams in basketball, soccer and baseball. At 53 years of age, Dan continues to play competitive basketball in local basketball leagues in Western Mass featuring local high school and college players. The most important part of Dan's life has always been his family. Dan has been happily married to his wife Kimberly since 1984 and has been blessed with 3 great children Cyrena, Tyler and Jillian.
